I have setup the VSA, configured a raid disk using a vmdk of 200GB, configured it into a management group and I am trying to add the storage to the VI3 via VIC.

For the life of me, cannot figure out how to get this to work?!

Please help!

Do you have a login to the LeftHand Networks resource center?

If so go download the VMware Field Guide for SAN/iQ Powerd SANs...

https://www.lefthandnetworks.com/member_area/dl_file.php?fid=935&action=display

That has steps for setting up and connecting iSCSI from ESX servers.

Nope, is it freely available to evaluators?

Now that you mention it.

We should put it on the same download page as the VSA and its docs.

I'll put in a request to do so and update this thread when done.

In the meantime, if you would like it now you could PM or email me an address to send it to.

I don't think we can send attachments through the forum.

Hi G Feder

Can you please confirm that you are not using ESX Starter Edition, just to eliminate that if you read the doco and it still just refuses to work.

I cannot get to this document. I have registered and I still get an error message:

You do not have access to this file!

Please exit this browser and choose another file.

Please advise.

Thanks

There is more than one level of permissions. That doc must be only accessible by a higher permissions group, like customers and partners or something like that. Sorry.

As I mentioned before though I'm going to get this linked to from where the VSA download page is so anyone who has access to the VSA can get to it without a resource center login. I'll reply to this post when I get that out on that site.

Apologies.

I've opened that doc up on the resource center for general access.

If you have a RC login and you could not see it before you should see it now.

I'll still put it on the download page for the VSA but that will be in a few days.
