Have a customer that is repurposing some MSA60 enclosures with HP DL360
We are building this using ESX/VSA, and it is being placed in a non-routable segmented VLAN just for the iSCSI storage.
The ESX machine has 4 nics, 2 for the iSCSI Vlan, and 2 for the production LAN.
The VSA only has 1 nic. Is there a way to add a vnic to the VSA, so the SNMP and email notifications can communicate on the LAN segment? If there is not, then we have to build a SNMP/SMTP proxy VM that has a leg in each network in order to receive and forward alerts/traps/emails from the VSA cluster correct?

You can add a second virtual nic to the VSA to manage it from a different network.
Add another Vnic and in the SAN/iQ interface you'll have to specify which is the "SAN/iQ interface", that would be the interface that iSCSI and IO traffic go on.
You can manage the unit from either interface still.
One thing to be aware of though. You need to make sure that the network you use for the SAN/iQ interface is ETH1, leaving ETH0 as the one you'll manage it from.
Found that by experience, it should not be that way and should be fixed in a new release.
Also, I've never personally tried to use SNMP in that configuration. But that should work.
Hope that helps.
