Hi,

Need a DR solution for a Vmware site with 3 ESX connected to a MSA1000. Reviewing info from VSA, I think it would be good and robust solution, but I have a doubt. I'm thinking of placing a new server with lot of internal storage at an alternate site, using VSA to replicate critical VM's to the alternate site. In case of a failure, critical VM's can be started automatically at the alternate site.

What I'm not sure is the number of license required. As every server in the main site have access to the shared storage, I think just one license is required for this site, and another one for the remote site. That makes 2 licenses.

Am I right?

Yes, VSA are licensed per VSA (Per VSA VM instance). Not per server connecting to them or per ESX host.
Hope that helps.
